The Anthurium ‘Dorayaki’ is a stunning tropical foliage plant prized for its beautifully rounded, velvety leaves and striking silver-white veining. Its thick, almost circular leaves feature a rich, deep green colour contrasted by prominent, shimmering silver veins that create an intricate pattern across the foliage.

A highly desirable collector's Anthurium, the ‘Dorayaki’ is a cultivated hybrid associated with Anthurium crystallinum, admired for its unusually rounded leaf shape and compact growth habit. Its distinctive appearance inspired its name, which comes from the round Japanese pancake known as dorayaki.

As the plant matures, its beautiful foliage becomes increasingly impressive, with new leaves often emerging in softer shades of green or bronze before deepening in colour and developing their characteristic silver veining. Its elegant, upright growth habit makes it a perfect statement plant for indoor shelves, decorative pots or tropical plant displays.

Care Tips

• Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal for maintaining healthy foliage and prominent silver veining. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves.

• Watering: Keep the potting mix lightly moist, allowing the top few centimetres to dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogging or allowing the plant to remain completely dry for extended periods.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions, ideally between 18–28°C. Protect from cold draughts, frost and Melbourne's winter chill.

• Fertiliser: Feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser during spring and summer to encourage healthy growth and vibrant foliage.

• Pet Friendly: No. Anthuriums contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested.
