Alocasia Camouflage Splash produces large, shield-shaped leaves irregularly patterned in shades of green, cream and silver. The unusual markings create a camouflage-like effect, with no two leaves looking exactly the same.

Its upright growth and bold foliage give it a strong tropical presence. With warmth, good light and consistent care, it can develop into an impressive feature plant.

Care Tips

• Light: Provide bright, indirect light indoors or dappled shade outside. Gentle morning sun is suitable, but avoid harsh midday and afternoon sun.
• Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of potting mix is dry. Keep it lightly moist during active growth without soaking the pot and leaving the roots wet which can encourage root rot.
• Humidity: Protect the plant from heaters and air-conditioning.
• Temperature: Alocasias prefer warm conditions and should be protected from frost and cold draughts.
• Feeding: Feed regularly with a balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer while the plant is actively growing.
• Winter care: In Melbourne and other cooler parts of Australia, growth may slow or the plant may become semi-dormant. Reduce watering until active growth returns.
• Pet safety: Alocasias are toxic if eaten and their sap may irritate the skin and eyes.
